I was just walking down the road, minding my own business and came across a peaceful protest in front of the Vienna Opera House (across the street from Starbucks). You can imagine what they were protesting about, I do not need to go into details.

What struck me most about this protest was the atmosphere. It lacked real fervor. It was sort of shallow. The most poignant observation I made from this experience was when two young women (who appeared to be supporting the Palestinians) were commenting to each other that “after the protest, let’s go to Starbucks.”

I need to digest my thoughts and share more observations a little later.
