I have just been invited to beta-test an exciting new location-based service called “Maptales”.

Our mission is to develop tools that our users can use to document their lives. Furthermore, users can collaborate with others to develop bigger documentations, eg. the best hikes in Austria, the nicest beaches in Brazil.

I will be posting observation about this service as I use this service.

I have been beta-testing this software and I am very impressed. You can view my LocoBlog Mobile Blog to get a feeling for the capabilities of this service. I will give more insights on my experiences in the near future.

In summary, I believe that LocoBlog is an easy to use location based mobile blogging platform that gives the user a taste of what location based mobile blogging is. I look forward to observing some of the creative uses of this service.

It has been one week since I attended and experienced the Microlearning 2007 Conference in Innsbruck. I emphasize experienced because I did not attend this event just to lose myself within my digital world of my laptop, like so many other conference goers, as is the case in so many other conferences. This losing oneself within a laptop is a conference phenomena I have experienced first-hand, and have yet to come to terms with. Yet, unlike other conferences I have attended in the past, I made a conscious effort to really pay attention and absorb the mental stimuli that was offered. I was really making a conscious effort to understand what “microlearning” is all about. Besides, I met a lot of really incredible people like: These new colleagues of mine have made my conference experience even more enjoyable and I learned much through our interactions and found my overall experience to be very fruitful. I doubt I would be able to have the same “learning” within a microlearning context.
